MESSAGE

I am happy to learn that The Meerut Bar Association, Meerut is bringing out its 13th edition of ‘Telephone Directory’ of its Members containing their names, address, phone numbers along with their photographs. I take this opportunity to convey the Members of the Meerut Bar Association, Meerut that the Bar of a District is the backbone of our judicial system and has a vital role in dispensing justice in a fair and efficient manner. The efficiency in dispensation of justice by the district judiciary enhance the legitimacy and credibility of institutions which are intended to subserve the administration of justice. I am happy to say that the Meerut Bar Association, Meerut is preserving its rich traditions. Pendency of cases is a concern for all of us. The people of this country have great trust and faith on the judiciary. They come to seek redress. We have to maintain the aspirations of litigants. I am happy to say that our judicial officers are toiling hard to dispose of cases with a view to reduce pendency of cases. The members of the Bar are cooperative in their endeavour. The figures of the recent National Lok Adalat held on November 12, 2022 shows a remarkable achievement, where more that one crore cases, pre litigation and pending, were settled. As regards Meerut Judgeship, 94,475 cases, both per litigation and pending, were settled. This could be possible because of the assistance rendered by the Bar. I really appreciate it. The ‘Telephone Directory’ will be definitely helpful to Members of the Association, litigants and other stakeholders connected with the District Judiciary. I wish the Members of the Meerut Bar Association, Meerut all the best.
